What is Forestry Mulching?
Forestry Mulching is an environmentally and efficient land clearing method that uses a single machine to cut,
grind and clear vegetation for land clearing, creating fire breaks and tracks.
A forestry mulching machine uses a rotary drum equipped with steel chipper tools ("teeth") to shred vegetation into mulch and then spreads this mulch out as a layer over the ground - this in turn supresses weeds and stabilises soil from erosion.
It is less expensive than traditional land clearing and doesn't damage the roots of keeper trees. It also provides instant
results without hauling or burning.
In the past land clearing would have involved excavators (which cost around twice the amount of a forestry mulcher
and operator) to remove and pile up felled trees / scrub and then have to be burnt off or mulched up and then
carted away / spread.
Depending on the terrain, density and type of material as much as 5 acres can be cleared in a single day.
Forestry Mulchers are most often used for land clearing, right of way, bushfire prevention management,
vegetation management, invasive management, invasive species control and wildlife restoration.
